Well, I first want to say that I finally figured out how
to post new posts without creating a new blog so I apologize to everyone for
not being able to read my other posts because I actually have been making
completely new blogs with new blog addresses. (Lol). Well last week, not that
any of you know because you couldn’t read my blog, so here’s a bit of my post:
[The sound of the water playing in the background of this
exercise was relaxing. The sound of water in general, whether I’m sitting by
the water or listening to it on a cd, is relaxing in itself. However, the sound
of the voice of the person speaking was not. I had a hard time really being
able to relax during this, but I think it’s because I just started a second job
and have been getting in a new routine at my new job, working non-stop between
my two jobs, functioning on a lack of sleep, and have been worrying about some
money issues. It was hard for me to tune out these thoughts, but I believe if I
was able to, it could have been a beneficial experience, but I will not know
until I can really concentrate and complete it how it should be. I think it would be fair to say that I was
unable to fully participate successfully with this exercise.]
This week’s activity, however, was very relaxing for me.
I actually had to do it twice because I became so relaxed the first time I fell
asleep about three quarters of the way through it! I found that I have a lot less
stress on my shoulders, because I have less to worry about in general this
week. I was really able to focus my attention on my breathing, while catching
and stopping other random thoughts that began to come into my mind. After
completing this week’s MP3 activity, I feel extremely relaxed and rejuvenated. It
was a calming and peaceful experience and I plan to do this particular activity
when I feel I need a “peaceful boost”.
My connection to spiritual wellness with my mental and
physical wellness is manifested in my everyday life. Each morning I wake up and
the first thing I do, I silently thank God for what I have and what he has
blessed me with. Same goes for before I fall asleep and the last thing I do; I thank
him for what I have been blessed with along with another day to appreciate
these things. I also pray often; asking God to protect loved ones and guide
them through any troubles they may be facing (my parents have been in a serious
financial rut since the downturn of the economy). I also make it a point to
better someone’s day, even if it is a stranger, and even if it is just by
giving that person a small gesture like a smile. I personally know that even
the tiniest gesture from a stranger can make the whole day. I would like to
believe I can do that for others.
Hi
ReplyDeleteits good to know that you have many work to do everyday because that can keep you busy, but the real thing its that we get stressed because the lack of rest, so that idea of the sound of the water its very relaxing because in general the sound of the water as rain, beach or river i think that is the most if the relaxing sounds i ever hear.
